Reclaimed & Steel
Some projects give you room to solve things the plans never anticipated. This was one of them.

The design called for a steel fireplace, open on three sides, heavy enough that the original structure couldn't support it. Rob reframed underneath, repositioned a beam to carry the load, finished the steel by hand with a wax treatment to get the exact look the client wanted. Problems like that don't show up in the final photography.
Reclaimed wood flooring throughout, laid and detailed by the crew. Hemlock ceiling. Pivot hinge entry door. Floating stairs with glass railings designed in-house, down to how the glass seats in the frame. Shelf inserts that went beyond what the designer drew. Reclaimed exterior siding, centered and laid by hand.
Rob worked alongside the interior designer from start to finish. She liked Steamboat enough to stay.
