Mountain Contemporary
The living room cantilevered out over the hillside with a 270-degree view of Sleeping Giant and the surrounding mountains. It was the kind of space you build a house around.

Standing in an empty room, it was noticed that the floor had more deflection than the CHS acceptable level. Rob could heel-drop and watch the floor move 7/8 of an inch. CHS worked with the engineer of the floor system to find an acceptable solution. After many discussions, the floor system manufacturer provided additional support for the floor that eliminated the problem.
This type of situation that's not in the contract. It's just the standard.
The rest of the home received the same attention. A custom craft room was designed and laid out for the clients specific textile practice. A custom work wall was built, storage solutions, oversized flat services, a hanging system that worked like a professional studio, but with her own custom interior finishes.
The back porch and hot tub area required a full grade and drainage design modification to avoid creating future problems.
CHS caught the problems and created solutions throughout this build.
